Text highlighted in e-mail message with Next & Last button appeari

Sometimes part of the text of my e-mails have a light blue background in the
reading pane. When I move the mouse over this highlighted area, a Next &
Last button appear. When I press either button, nothing happens. Also, any
hyperlinks that appear in these areas do not work. They are not even
underlined. It's not the whole e-mail that appears this way but just part of
it.

I have no idea why it appears this way or what the buttons are supposed to
do. What's happening? Is there a setting I need to change or does it have
something to do with how the sender formatted the message?

Outlook 2007 I assume?
It means that that part is being recognized as a header from a previous
email that got quoted.
If you feel that for your emails the headers are not being recognized
correctly, you can turn the feature off.

Those buttons are within the header area of quoted html-formatted messages
and are hyperlinks for previously quoted messages - if you have a long
thread back and forth with someone the previous and next buttons will jump
to the next quoted segment without scrolling. The only hyperlinks within the
header would be email address or subject and they should not be hyperlinked.

Thanks! I was able to get rid of the highlighting and the Next & Last
button. The hyperlinks still don't work but I think that's because the 'bad'
lines start with 'From' or 'Reply'. So it must be still incorrectly
recognizing those lines as headers even though they are not. If you know of
a way to trick Outlook 2007 into not even attempting to recognize e-mail
headers, I would love to know how.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, Outlook 2007 is recognizing the 'bad'
lines as headers even though they are not. I think it's because the lines
begin with 'From' and 'Reply'.

Most likely, since it doesn't hyperlink links in the header area.
