E-mail & hyperlink issue

I am using Office 2003 on Windows XP. lately , when type URLs into my e-mail messages but it does not work the way it used to. Previously, if I typed a URL the link would automatically highlight and underline and a Hand icon would appear if the cursor is positioned over it. Now when I enter a URL in an email I need to select Format/Hyperlink, etc. Yet, the text appears highlighted in blue and underlined but the hand does not appear unless I holddown the Ctrl key. Others on my team do not have the same problem with their Outlook. Is there a configuration or option I need to set to make the URLs automatically formatted

Thanks

Ned

That is a Word option; Tools-> Options-> tab Edit-> Use CTRL+Click to follow
Hyperlink
