text goes blurry

Hi Group,

I need to save my powerpoint file as a tiff file. It contains both imported
pictures and text boxes created in powerpoint. When I do, however, all the
text gets blurry, but the pictures are fine. Is there a fix to that?

You could try changing the page setup from 7.5x10 to 15x20 and then saving
the TIFF. That will give you an image file twice as large and might reduce
the blurriness.

Occasionally though, changing your page set up does cause text formatting to
get messed up. You'll just have to try it though; sometimes it leaves things
as is.

Also, a TIFF should be the best quality, but try saving a JPEG and a PNG and
see if the results are different.

See

Improve PowerPoint's GIF, BMP, PNG, JPG export resolution

There are a lot of factors that depend on your version of PPT, but as a general
strategy you'll want to use the suggestions in the link above to export a
higher-than-needed resolution file in PNG format, then use another program to
resample the images to the needed resolution and save as TIFF.

I'd avoid PowerPoint's TIFF exports; in some versions they're unreliable.

You can use the free+excellent IrfanView to batch resample your images if you
don't have another program you like better. http://www.irfanview.com
