Text distotion

W

Wolfe

Have created a website for our user group
www.sopaweb.ca
How do I create a site where the text does not get distorted
when the site is viewed in difference screen format.
For example if you open
http://www.soapweb.ca/AutoCAD_Info.htm
and make the viewing window smaller (left to right)
the text is no longer aligned with the heading and the
heading is no longer in one line.
BTW, website was created in Microsoft FP.

Thank you for the help.

From looking at the source could be for a number of reasons. For example,
why such as this:?

               &nbs

I am new to FP, and do not understand your comments
  &nbsp.
Have created the site under the "Normal" tab.
You may referring to HTML tab code, well you got me.
If the repetitive   &nbsp is the problem,
how do I change it?

Thanks

is caused by using the space bar to position content, use the alignment buttons or
learn to work with tables.

It indicates you have tons of spaces in there, apparently for positioning.
Very bad way to do it.

Use tables.

You also have links with at least 3 different fonts used.

That page has a lot of problems, none serious, but they all add up to kind
of a mess. You will have to fix them one at a time.

Thank you Thomas and Wind-sun,
Was treating the website like a document for text alignment,
obviously is not the best.
Will figure out how to use tables or if you can recommend a tutorial.
As for the 3 difference fonts used, do you suggest to stick
with one font and which is the best for website?

Thanks

ps...you shouldn't use spaces for text alignment in print either..unless you're using a dos word processor(?)

It seems that people coming from the paper world have the most to UN-learn
:p

FP comes with a bunch of default table layouts, try one or more and just
play with it. Not much to learn about tables unless you get complicated.

Thanks to all about the table.
Trying it out on a copy of the website first.
Will let you know when it is finished and
would like to hear your feed back.
As for the fonts, will try to stick to ARIAL
