I have a Windows 2000 Terminal Server and a Windows 2003
Terminal Server that I am experiencing problems with
printing to a variety of USB printers, specifically, HP
Laserjet 1000 and a Lexmark Z 53 printer.
I have tried remote clients to each server, and to a
variety of other printer devices and in both cases, the
errors occur when printing to a USB device. LPT based
printers print in both environments without issue.
I have successfully installed the printer driver on each
server.
I have successfully followed the Microsoft Tech Doc
Q302361 to enable all ports through the terminal server.
On the Windows 2000 server, I get Event61 errors each time
printing fails. The client station receives no error. I
have researched Microsoft Q810647 and will attempt to
reapply the latest 2000 service pack and see the result.
On the Windows 2003 server, the client gets an error in
the terminal session that 'the document failed to print'.
The server does not record any error message in event
viewer.
I am stuck, and would appreciate any assistance on this
issue.
Please reply to me in email (preferred) or here in the
forum, as I am continuing to look for solutions/ideas.
MY email address needs to have the .net (at the end)
removed and replaced with a .com instead.
