Temporary Internet Files

I have a folder C:\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\CONTENTIE5\... This
folder contains about 15,000 files in 4 subfolders, with over 14,000 of them
0KB size. The dates of some folders go back to 2001, none are later than
2003. Is it safe to delete \CONTENTIE5? I am running the latest version of
IE6 on my system. I wonder if these files were left hanging around when I
updated from IE5 to IE6.

Yes, it is safe to delete those file. That is probably your old browser's
cache.

Jon,

I am opening some web pages I have installed on my computer. How do I get
them to cache to C:\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\ ?

Thanks,
Steve

I've never run across this question before, but from what little testing
I've done with opening .html files stored locally on my computer it would
seem that the contents of those files are not written to the TIF.

IE6 still uses the same cache IE5 did. It's safe to delete it, though.
