temporary freezing

Hi.
I'm running win xp and whenever i play a game, every
10-15 seconds or so the game pauses for 3-4 seconds and
the sound stutters or 'hangs'. The game game then
proceedes as normal. This i very annoying when playing
games like IL2 Sturmovik of racing games as you can
imagine! I think that maybe it may be a soundcard issue
perhaps? I have a Creative Audigy. Very grateful for
anyone who can help me or give advice as i am at my wits
end! I will post a dxdiag if it helps.

Hi Pete,

The best way to determine if it's your sound card is to
either physically remove it and test your system, or if
that's a little *too* drastic, you can disable the sound
card via Control Panel / System / Hardware Device
Manager. If you are 100% certain that it's the card,
I would move it to another slot on your motherboard
and install the latest and greatest drivers for it too. :)

Let us know how it works out for you Pete!

hi
Not sure if this is any help but recently I ran a reg edit
program which gave me the same problem. Putting the
backup into the registry cured it, so sounds like a faulty
setting to me. A reinstall would at least cure it.

Any way SB drivers are not very good and there are better
drivers for the SB if you do a search.
