Temporary Fix for Window Media Player problem since SP2 install

The fault - I've hit a strange problem. It seems that Media Player 9.0 has
stopped
showing the Album Info that it had previously stored. When I click the
"find album info" link, it will show me the album, etc but will not save
it. All it has is a blank screen for everything but the lyrics tab. Anyone
seen this before?


This fix was e mailed to me, it seems to work for me:-

I noticed your question in the newsgroups, and I stumbled across a fix for
my system at least...

Go to your windows media player directory, find wmplayer.exe and copy it.
Paste it into the
same directory and rename it whatever... WMp.exe.....launch.exe...

Now when you launch it, it will show the info pane stuff again.

Not sure why it's doing this!

this probably has to do w/ the sp2 change that restricts privledge on
local-content html. the album info is stored in a xml file in the music
directory. an IE option can be relaxed to restore this capability. look
for "local content".
