Temp Internet file folder not full - but big problems

Hi

I log on to XP as administrator. My temp internet file folder (C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files) contains only a few cookies. But notepad won't open when I click on view - source and I can only save images as bitmaps

Can anyone tell me why the PC is diplaying all the symptoms of a full temp internet file folder

Did you create a shortcut to NotePad on your control panel.
If so, then rename it NPad.

Emptying the Temporary Internet files should fix both problems.

It appears not so much to be the folder being full, but the indexes
being overloaded. So it happens if the size allowed for TIF is a lot
too big (as is likely by default on a very big drive). Go to Internet
options, empty it, then click its Settings and reduce the size - 40 or
50 MB should be plenty
