Temp folder why cookies - history - internet temporary files

Hi All,

We have about 350 PCs in our office running Windows 2000 and XP. The
computers are ghosted with the same image. I can't figure out why some on
some computers the temp folder is so different than on others. Some are
normal with the usual stuff in them and others have the history, internet
temporary files and cookies folders in the temp folder.

I understand the caching of files in the temp folder but, there's already a
cookies, history and internet temporary files folder in the user's profile
used for caching. Why and how do the get in the temp folder? Anyone have an
idea?

Thanks,
frankco

The system resets the pointers to the System temp variable location
when the normal profile paths aren't available. I've seen the same
behavior on a number of PCs, but never been able to isolate a single
cause.
