I need to connect my thru my lan, using "Obtain an ip
adress automatically", "Obtain Dns server automatically",
in other words DHCP, But when i right click on
lan>properties on the General tab, i don't see the "this
connection uses the following items. So i can't get to
Tcp/ip properties. What do i do. It's Xp Home Edition

Go into your network settings, right click properties, then click the
advanced button in the lower right side. You will see more options.

It sounds like something is wrong with the network connection. Go to
Device Manager and un-install the network adapter that the connection
uses. That will delete the network connection. Then, reboot and let
XP re-install the network adapter. That will create a new network
connection.
