TCP/IP network transport is not installed

I have XP Home and tried to download a 3D screensaver but my computer
wouldn't allow it. I currently have Norton Anti Virus and AVG. When I
attempted to go back website the following messages came up:
Rundll Errorload. C/PROGRA~1\NEWDOT~1\NEWDOT~1.DLL
and
TCP/IP network transport is not installed.

I have solved the RUNDLL by following a previous post, however I have a
problem with the TCP/IP bit. I am currently working on my sons computer
which runs off my wireless router so I know its only a problem with my
computer. Whoever replies to this post, could you please treat me very gently
and use extremely basic lingo. I have obviously done something wrong whilst
on line and am getting hard times from him indoors so need to sort it out
myself if possible. I am very computer illiterate. Many thanks.

Julie,

C/PROGRA~1\NEWDOT~1\NEWDOT~1.DLL

You have NewDotNet. This is a noxious bit of crapware, masquerading as an
Internet experience. Proceed immediately to malware analysis. You may peruse
my malware analysis and removal guide, if you wish:

Or, you may proceed immediately to the DSLR Security Cleanup Forum:

If you elect the latter, please read the sticky instructions in the forum, and
follow their instructions to the letter. If you post without doing so, they
will instruct you just this.

From Julie:
You guys are brilliant!! Thank you, I am all sorted and back on the net.
What would have caused this problem - was it that I downloaded something my
security didn't like, or could it have been that I had downloaded a Windows
upgrade? I am just curious as to why, at the moment I am going to stick to
emailing and looking at ebay!! Still I know where to come if I have any more
problems. Thank you again.

Julie,

NewDotNet is just another problem that will be with us forever. You have to
prepare yourself, and your computer. The best protection, to prevent crap like
NewDotNet from being installed on you computer, is layered security. Sticking
to EMail isn't going to protect you either.
# Layer 1 - Perimeter Network Protection
# Layer 2 - Individual Network Protection
# Layer 3 - Software Protection
# Layer 4 - Common Sense
# Layer 5 - Education
