My taskbar appears to be configured not to remain as
always "on top". It is not set to autohide, or anything
of the like, but rather just seems to get covered by any
open windows rather than staying on top.
Especially when maximizing, the windows take up the whole
screen rather than leaving the taskbar uncovered as it
did previously. Please let me know how i can change this
back.
Thanks

Hi,

Do you have the "keep the taskbar on top of other windows" option enabled?
Go right click a unused area of the taskbar, and then choose properties.
Now put a checkmark on the "Keep the taskbar on top of other Windows"
checkmark box.
Then hit ok.

Hi!Andrew!
Drag it to the normal position.Right click omn blank area of taskbar >

Hi,

Restore Taskbar and Desktop to Default Functionality (Line 164)
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

To use the VBS Files: Download .vbs file and save it to your hard drive (you
may want to right click and use Save Target As). Double click the vbs
file. You will be prompted when the script is done.
