Taskbar

My applications I have open are not displaying along the taskbar - when I
press minimise they seem to be hiding somewhere. They are showing up on the
task manager but not on the Taskbar. There doesn't seem to be a spot for
them on the toolbar for active applications. Does anybody know how I can
correct this?

is there a dotted vertical line on the taskbar pointing toward the
clock...if so try and move itto the left and your running programs may
appear

no there isnt - i tried unlocking the taskbar as i thought this may be the
reason. but no luck. tried looking on control panel etc, but still haven't
worked out how to sort it. i updated my laptop with service pack 2 today,
it's been the same since. :-S

is the taskbar hidden..run your cursor to the bottom of the screen and see
if the taskbar pops up

did you check the control panel taskbar options..there are a few things
there that can make it disappear

Use Tweak-UI, Taskbar category and check that the option box " Show
Taskbar Notification Icons" is checked. Also, increase the Taskbar depth
and check the vertical bars that separate different segments of the taskbar
or check the placement of the expand/collapse Chevrons.

I recently had a similar problem. Most of my system tray icons were not
"shown" when the programs was definitely running. After several Internet
searches, I found the 'UPnP User interface" was the cause of my problems.
Could this cause this problem also?
