Taskbar suddenly goes from bottom to right side

My taskbar suddenly appeared one day on the right side of my screen in
vertical whereas it had previously been situated across my screen at the
bottom in horizontal mode. I know there is a quick fix for this but darned
if I can find it. Can you help?

You can drag it back to the bottom of the screen. It's possible that it may
be locked. In that case, right-click on the clock and click unlock Taskbar.
It's easiest to drag from the clock as well.

Thanks for your help. Unfortunatetly, it is standing vertically on the right
side of the screen and does not respond to mouse-overs on either the top or
bottom of the taskbar. It can be dragged to the left but that appears to
simply move the entire vertical taskbar over to cover half the screen. The
taskbar is not locked. Puzzler/

Watch your Mouse Pointer. It has to be the Standard Pointer (usually a white
Arrow pointing up and to the left) when you start to drag. If you see it turn
into a double headed black arrow, you will make the Task Bar wider.
Try this:
Point directly at the colon in the clock. Make the tip of the mouse pointer
touch the colon. Now, try dragging down again.

Thanks so much. I was initially pulling north to south. When I pulled the
colon in the clock from right to left, the taskbar reverted to its proper
place in a horizontal position at the bottom of the screen.
