My problem is that the taskbar icons seems to be oversized, in other words,
it looks like the little icon which are (for example) supposed to 36X36 are
now 50X50
Any help will be appreciated. :-)

When I right click the taskbar I have no View to click. I only see
"Toolbars, Cascade Windows, Tile Windows Horizontally, Tile windows
Vertically, Show the Desktop, Task Manager, Lock the Taskbar and
Properties".

Do it in a blank space of the quicklaunch area of the taskbar. You may
have to slide the divider bar over a little to make a blank space.

I tried that and I still have no View, I have the same thing except above
where it says Toolbars it has "Open folder"

Unlock the Taskbar!

Hi George,

Unlock the Taskbar and select: View/Small Icons.

Control Panel - Display - Appearance, and click Advanced.

In Item select 'Caption Buttons' and adjust. Note that it *also*
handles the size of the minimise/maximise/close buttons top right in
every window

My problem is the reverse: the taskbar itself is too small in height and
there is no setting to change this that I can find. I therefore downloaded
the "taskbariconsincrease.vbs" from Kelly's excellent website but it did not
have any effect on increasing the size of the taskbar so that the icons
within it could become larger.

I tried it on 2 different laptops, one with XP Home SP-2 and the other with
XP Home SP-1. Neither showed any changes that I could see. I noticed that
in both cases it did successfully create the "MinWidth" key in the registry,
but even when I drastically modified the -2700 value of the key, I could
detect no effect on the taskbar or its icons. I have no idea why it does
not work for me.

Hi Jeff,

The script changes the width of the buttons/icons "on" the Taskbar. It does
not alter the height of the Taskbar. Send me a screen shot via email, when
you get a chance. Also, as Alex mentioned, what is the number
selected/being used under Caption Buttons? Also, are you per chance using
any Accessibility Options? In addition, in the Notification Area, is the
date etc showing or just the clock time?

Note that changing Caption buttons changes the depth of the bar to
correspond
