Taskbar Icon

Something moved around the icons on my desktop, but also on the Taskbar.
The icon for Showing Desktop has disappeared from there and I don't know how
to put it back. Also, I thought that Ctrl-D opened up Desktop and that
doesn't seem to be working. TIA for any help with these problems.

Winkey/D displays the desktop, not Ctrl/D.

One way to recreate the "Show Desktop" shortcut:

1. Open Notepad,
2. Copy/Paste following lines in it:

[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

3. Click File, Save as..
4. Copy/Paste the following line in File name box :
%appdata%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\Show Desktop.scf
5. Click OK
