Taskbar buttons (XP Home edition)

Icons for running applications (taskbar buttons) are
missing from the taskbar. When an open window is
minimised, it disappears completely from the desktop. The
only way to restore it or to navigate between open
applications - to use ALT+TAB.
No such problem if logged in using other user's account on
the same PC.
Would appreciate your advice.

Hello Alex,

I suggest you visit MS-MVP Kelly's website at
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

Note the instructions at the top of the page,
then scroll down to line 240,
(Programs Aren't Minimized in the Taskbar)

Right-click the hyperlink, then click | Save Target As |
to download the file, "xp_taskbar_desktop_fixall.vbs",
then double-click and follow the prompts.
