Task Synchronization

I use an HP iPAQ PocketPC h2215 with Windows Mobile 2003, Microsoft
ActiveSync 4.1, Outlook 2003, and Windows XP Pro. When choosing what
components I want synchronized, Tasks is listed but cannot be selected.
First of all, why is it listed if we cannot select it, and is there a way to
synchronize Tasks? Both Outlook 2003 and PocketPC have a Tasks feature, so
why won't it let me synchronize it? Thanks.

You should be able to. Does it let you select the other Outlook items,
contacts, etc. There are a couple of things you could try. It's unfortunate
that you have upgraded to AS4.1 as it doesn't do a thing for you on a WM2003
device and in fact reduces some of your capability. You could try
re-installing AS 4.1, or even upgrading to the 4.2 Beta (lots of folks are
running that with no issues at all. I have been since it was released). You
could try a detect and repair on Outlook, but be aware you will likely need
the installation CD when you run through that.

Another option is to delete the partnership and re-establish it.

I assume Tasks used to work? The 2215 has been around a while, and came with
an earlier version of AS 3.something, and before Outlook 2003. Did it stop
working after some particular upgrade? Or is this a new device for you and
you are working with what you got?

This is the first time I am using Tasks, but I believe when I looked at it
when I first got it Tasks seemed to work, but I never tried synchronizing
with Tasks. I am also relatively new to Outlook (the only reason I am using
Outlook at all is as a "middle-man" for synchronizing my PocketPC with my
MSN Hotmail account). Are there any properties I should check for anything
that could be causing this, and if there are, where would I go to check
them? Thanks.
