Task Manager

Hello, I'm on XP and I'm trying to open my task manager
but everytime I try, it doesn't open on the desktop, but
the icon appears in the systray on the taskbar. However,
when I move my pointer onto it the icon disappears. It
used to work fine but now I can't get it to open.

It sure looks like it's going to be a complicated process
to get rid of those viruses, but at least I know what to
do now.
