task manager

when I go to task manager I get a user box only. This does
not let me delete it unless I shut down. How do I get task
manager to work?
 
Open Task Manager and double-click anywhere on the top Window border.
Somehow, you managed to convert Task Manager to run in "Tiny Footprint Mode".
