Task Manager format changed

About a month ago my task manager program started looking different.
When I start it I get one window without any tabs only showing the
applications.
I do not get any of the other tabs (Processes, performance etc.)
There is not a tool bar at the top anymore.
There are thee buttons on the bottom. End Task, Switch To, New Task...
There is no eXit button at the top right side of the window. (There are no
buttons on the top right side of the window)
The only way to exit the program is to right click on it's icon in the tool
bar and select close.
I have run the emergency utilities program and when I start the backup copy
it comes up the same way.
