Task Bar

My question is regarding the notification area for the
task bar.
If I click on the start menu and then properties. At the
task bar notification customize area I have a list of
past items. I would like to know if there is any way to
delete items from the list. It seems I can only change
the behavior but there are items I don't want to be there
but I can't seem to find the area to delete history.

Thanks

There is no simple way to do this in XP. In order to
accomplish this you must go into the registry and make a
change. Be sure to do exactly as I instruct. I take no
responsibility for mistakes you make. go>start\run and
type in regedit and click ok. Now follow this route by
clicking the + beside the entries in this order
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
\Explorer\TrayNotify and click to highlight TrayNotify and
open it's values in the right panel. Now right click on
IconStreams and then click delete. Now close out of
regedit and then right click on the task bar and click
task manager\processes tab and click on explorer.exe to
highlight it and then click "end process" . Now while
still in task manager click file\new task and type in
explorer and press ok. There you have it done and cleaned.
Keep smiling.
