I usually work with quite a few windows open, ie word, excel, mozilla firefox, microsoft outlook and sage, and jump between them by way of the taskbar.
Recently though everything disapeared from the taskbar and the only way of accessing something that is already open is to press alt, control, delete and double click on the window I need.
I have not made any changes to the computer by either installing or downloading anything for many months.
I have searched taskbar properties but cannot find any way of showing open windows and the only way i could put it right was to do a system restore.....which worked for 3 days, then I turned my computer on, opened everything up and the taskbar was empty again!!
How do I put this right without continually having to do a system restore and why is this happening?
I am using windows XP home edition with service pack 2
