SP2 and application task list

I installed SP2 on my Dell laptop at the weekend. Everything went
well. No issues apart from on small glitch.

The taskbar next to the 'START' button no longer displays the running
applications/windows. So if you minimise an app/window it
effectively disappears. Only way to see it is to bring up taskmanager
or press ALT-TAB. As I frequently run lots of windows having to
ALT-TAB or use the taskmanager is a pain.

It seems related to the way the system handles Quick Launch because
when I deselect it the whole taskbar disapears completely.

Anyone got any ideas ?
