Using XP Pro, my Task manager has started to run incorrectly. When the
window comes up, there are NO tabs showing ("Processes", etc), no
minimize/maximize/close at the top of the window. I can close programs that
are running, but that's it. Here is the crux: If I log on to my PC as
"Guest", it works as it should, but when I use my regular user (me), it's a
mess, and I can only close the application by right clicking on the little
green graph icon in my taskbar and choosing "close". Furthermore, if I hold
CTRL/ALT/DEL for more than a millisecond, it opens multiple taskmanager
windows (2 seconds of C/A/D gets me 6 or more windows--crazy)
How do I repair this? (Is it possible to reload just taskman.exe from the
XP CD?)
