Task Manager Malfunctions (Horribly!)

Using XP Pro, my Task manager has started to run incorrectly. When the
window comes up, there are NO tabs showing ("Processes", etc), no
minimize/maximize/close at the top of the window. I can close programs that
are running, but that's it. Here is the crux: If I log on to my PC as
"Guest", it works as it should, but when I use my regular user (me), it's a
mess, and I can only close the application by right clicking on the little
green graph icon in my taskbar and choosing "close". Furthermore, if I hold
CTRL/ALT/DEL for more than a millisecond, it opens multiple taskmanager
windows (2 seconds of C/A/D gets me 6 or more windows--crazy)
How do I repair this? (Is it possible to reload just taskman.exe from the
XP CD?)

Double-click the (usually beige) border and you'll exit the small
footprint display mode.

That's because the Del key is a repeat key. Just peck the Del key as
you depress the other two. But I have to add that I can't open more
than one TM window at a time, no matter what I try.. That part is strange.

Hope the above helps.

Task Manager Menu Bar and Tabs Are Not Visible

Double click anywhere on the Task Manager border to bring the menu bar and
tabs back. Do it again to hide them again. Or not. ;-)

Hi BillCanoes1968,

Chances are your Task Manager is in what is called "Tiny Footprint" mode.
Double-click anywhere in the border area of the box and then the title bar
and menu tabs should return.

Thank you too all :) Silly tiny footprint! I thought the file was corrupt,
and I just needed to click the border. LOL at self.

Problem solved-yea!
