Tasbar and window appearance

My problem originally entailed the loss of xp appearance
option for my display settings, however I was able to fix
that with the downloading of a n umber of fixes from a
website pointed out to me on these newsgroups, namely
restoretaskbar, and restorethemes. However while this
fixed the original problem whenever I now restart the
system it reverts to classic appearance until I reload my
saved theme. I dowloaded xp_save_settings to rectify this
issue but this has not worked, are there any other
possibilities cause this is really getting annoying.

Have you checked that the Themes Service is starting automatically on
start-up? (Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services)
