sytem clock not working - help !!

My system clock is having this problem for a long time. It does not change
(automatically) in real time. I always have to adjust my clock manually.
Also, it does not synchronize with the internet servers. And it stops working
every time i reboot. Thus, same date & time keep showing for days if i don't
change it manually.

Because of this, most of my programs show old dates. And, also windows
cannot make a correct restore point as every program has an erroneous time. I
have a feeling if this continues, my computer might have lot more problems
later on. Kindly, help before its too late.

Thanks,

Anurag

Your Motherboard will have a battery on it. It looks about like a quarter. It
can be unclipped, and new one slipped in. They are for sale at places like
Radio Shack.
