systray.exe

My programs are not loading (Outlook, IE, others) in Win XP. I looked in
Task Manager and systray does not apear. In command prompt, systray.exe was
found but did not execute. In other words, I can't do anything but go on a
few things. I have several virus/spyware programs (Ad-Aware, Spy Sweeper,
Spybot) running.

How can I get systray.exe to reload ?

Alvin,
My programs are not loading (Outlook, IE, others) in Win XP.

When do they not load, when clicking on a shortcut in the Start Menu? When
booting?
In command prompt, systray.exe was
found but did not execute.

Found where? %windir%\system32 folder? Systray.exe is not a user program.

Do you mean that you are missing notification icons down by the clock?

Do you see the clock? That can be hidden.

I really do not understand what is not working.

Is this what you mean?

Notification area icons are missing at startup

The programs do not load when I click on the icons in desktop and Start Menu.
The icons all load, but do not execute.

Systray.exe was found in windir%\system32 folder.

All notification icons at the clock (and the clock) seem to be present,
though do not all open upon clicking.

For example, I double click on Outlook and it loads so far and then freezes.
Norton does not load at all upon double clicking. Sometimes things will
not load and then later load. Often everything freezes and I have to hard
boot because the task manager won't close things. Tis a puzzlement.

Alvin,

It sounds like you have some sort of malware.

First, I would recommend these...

Update your antivirus software and run a full system scan.

Do the same for whatever anti-spyware applications that you have.

But you stated that Norton doesn't open. I would assume that Norton is your
antivirus software, if that is the case try one of these Free online virus
scans:

Trend Micro - Free online virus Scan

Panda ActiveScan - Free online scanner

Also try free...
