systemprofile copies everything in documents and settings

I am working on someone's computer and everything that is created in
their user account, (desktop, my docs, application data, etc) is copied
to C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile. I know this is required
because it belongsto the windows system account, but usually the
folders remain empty. There is only the one user account that is used
(owner) and the guest account has been disabled. However, the guest
account contains an almost identical replica of the owner's documents
and settings also.

Please help! Obviously this is a problem because they have run out of
disk space due to the fact that everything keeps getting saved twice.
