System will not recognise the cd-rom drive.

System will not recognise the cd-rom drive. The BIOS will
also not let me change the boot to CD-ROM (so I could
possibly re-install the OS). How can I repair the or re-
install OS? If I format the C drive and shsut down, will
the system automatically boot from the CD-ROM?

It sounds like you have a old pc which does not support cd
booting, if this is the case, use the win 2000 boot floppy
disks which will boot the cd rom for you during setup !
