System standby failed

I get the following error box--
Blue border with "System Standby Failed"

Error message "The device driver for the 'Standard 101/102-key for Microsoft
Natural PS/2 Keyboard is preventing the machine from entering standby. Pease
close all applications and try again. If the problem persists, you may need
to update the driver."

This error started after the last batch of MS updates were installed.

BTW this KB has the usual 12 function keys, numeric keypad, cursor and
home/end etc plus 18 special editing/internet/volume control keys. (The
devise manager calls this the STANDARD 101 etc KB.) How is THIS KB a
STANDARD KB?

What is causing the error and how do I fix it? AFAIK the KB driver has not
changed.

Here's a few things that you can try:

1 Go into Device Manager and rollback the driver for the keyboard.
2 Use System Restore to restore to a point before the latest update.
3 Update the driver for the keyboard.
4 Go to Add or Remove Programs. Check "Show updates" at the top. Scroll
down to the update you suspect is causing the problem and remove it.

#1 worked for me with a similar problem even though I had not updated any
dirvers.

See inline questions. I would appreciate individual answers to each of my
many questions.

Since I have not installed ANY KB drivers (since computer was purchased)
what am I 'rolling back' to?
2 Use System Restore to restore to a point before the latest update.

Does this 'remove' all the updates? - How do I reinstall some of the updates
that were removed? Which should I reinstall?
3 Update the driver for the keyboard.

What are the steps to do this? Why would this help? What would have
corrupted the driver?

I have no idea which (if any) updates caused the problem.

See question at paragraph !.

Thanks.

I removed Adobe Type Manager and the device error went away and the program
that installed Adobe Type Manager also functioned OK.
