System Service Launcher Has Encountered a Problem

I receive this message every time I enter Mapquest.com for directions. Only
after I click on to receive directions this message appears (Curtains for
Window Systems Service Laucher has encountered a problem and needs to close).
I have the option of either sending or not sending an error report.
Regardless of which option i choose, i then receive another window that
tells me that my security manager will shut down in 4, 3, 2, 1, seconds. The
page is closed and I am returned to my start-up. This has only happened after
I signed up with comcast cable internet. I contacted comcast and no help
available.
 
In IE, tools menu, Manage Add-Ons, you might get an idea of anything in the
ActiveX components in use, and what you might try deleting to get a new copy
from MapQuest.
