System Restore

I'm running Win Vista Home Premium on a Gateway GT5238E with 2 gig of ram
and dual core processor.

System restore will create restore points manually, also before install and
uninstall, but not automatically. According to the info from Microsoft
restore points should be created each day automatically. I'm assuming the
auto restore points are in addition to the other ones. Is this correct?

Any info will be greatly appreciated

I'm curious about something. When you launch SystemPropertiesProtection.exe,
what is shown in the Available Disks box? Specifically, what disks are
listed, and are they selected?
