System restore

OS is XP Home. Every date I try to restore back to, system restore says
"incomplete"

On one date, I got "autoload". I would assume this is why it's not
restoring.

Another date, I got "2.0" software

Another date, no apparant reason, just said incomplete.

I did do some windows updates, of which 2 did not install. Of which I have
posted in another the update NG, because I'm trying to find out why they
didn't install.

I haven't added any software, and don't suspect any highjacking, virus, or
spyware.

I run MS Beta, Ad-aware 6.0, Spybot S&D, Spyware Dr., NAV, and ran a check
with CW shredder, just to make sure. So, I think spyware isn't the problem.

Any ideas, surely would be appreciated.

Thanks. After reviewing some of the information, I decided to turn off
system restore, and start all over with restore points.

I did have a virus about a month ago, and maybe this is why the restore
points wouldn't work.

Thanks again for the link, it's a keeper.
