Why does system restore does not work even when I chose different dates that are highlighted? I keep getting a message that the system did not restore at the chosen date. How can I fix this problem?

There may be corrupted data in system Restore.
Turn off/on System Restore to delete corrupted files:
Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore.
Click System Restore Settings on left side.
Check "Turn off System Restore", click OK, follow prompts and reboot.
This deletes ALL Restore Points including corruption.
Then go back and turn on system Restore and create a Restore Point.

Sounds like the service has a corruption. This page may

Whilst it is for a different error the sfc /scannow and
the re-install tips are valid for you.
