after disk-to-disk cloning system restore does not list
the new drive with partition c and d, but instead the
partitions e and f of the source drive which after cloning
is used as slave drive.

Don't clone anything under the "System Volume Information" directory.
System Restore has per-machine configuration files there. I suggest you
disable System Restore before cloning drives.

Alternatively, you can disable System Restore and re-enable it when running
on the newly cloned drive.
