When I try to use system restore, I get a system restore
cannot restore your system to the chosen date. Please
choose another date. I have plenty of dates and the
result is the same.

Scroll down and check out Willits reply to my post at 1:03 P.M. today titled
"why does MS torment us with system restore" It's the first response. Most
of the rest are just B.S. although very entertaining. Good Luck, Dave

You can turn it off from Control Panel > System > and
then
re-boot and it will purge it's file. Then re-boot, turn
it
back on.
And try this if the above does not work.

1. Put the in the Windows XP CD
2. Click Start , Run
3. Type the following then OK

rundll32.exe advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection
C:\Windows\Inf\sr.inf

You can also open Windows Explorer, go to
C:\Windows\Inf folder and right-click sr.inf (Then
Install)
