System Restore Checkpoint

First, if this discussion is in the wrong chatroom, please let me
know....

Due to another problem that is being discussed in another room
regarding the AllowMultipleTSSessions service, I've noticed that my PC
isn't taking any valid Restore Checkpoints. I've done a few system
restores in the past with no problems, but now I see that there aren't
any within the last 60 days.

I do have this option turned on. Is it a good idea to let the computer
take its own (which is the way it's always been) or do them myself?

I also see that there are checkpoints taken every single day in those
last 60 days (although invalid), but they're classified as "Windows
Defender Checkpoint". Actually, there are about 4-5 PER DAY. Is this
right?

Because of the other problem I've noted above, and since I'm unable to
find a valid checkpoint, I've uninstalled Windows Defender.

So, can someone help my to figure out why no system checkpoints are
being taken? Is it a size allocation error?

Thanks,

DrB

Have you tried creating a manual restore point to check to see if it's now
working correctly after removing Defender?

Sounds like you may have run out of space - see

You are in the right place. said:

Do you see any bold dates on the System Restore calendar?

Let's take a look at Event Viewer for any System Restore logs that may
have been created recently that may help us diagnose the problem.

Go to Start - Run and type eventvwr.msc and press enter.
Click on System in the left pane.
Click the gray title “Source” at the top of the source name column in
the right pane to sort by source name, look for "sr" and "srservice".
Double click on each of these events, then click on the button below the
two arrows in the upper right corner. This will copy the event
information to the clipboard. Paste the information for each of the two
event here. There’s no need to post duplicate Event ID’s.

How do I use the Event Viewer to search for System Restore logs?

Yes, that is correct in most cases.

That's a good idea while troubleshooting the System Rerstore problem.
