System Checkpoint Fouls up Scanner

I don't know if this is the right group. I have to do a
system restore virtually every day because system
checkpoint fouls up my legal-size Mikrotek SCSI scanner.
I am forced to check the scanner before I install any new
antivirus, windows update, etc to make sure system
checkpoint has not messed up my scanner software. I used
to reinstall the Mikrotek software until it dawned on me
to try system restore. What does system checkpoint do to
mess up the software? How can I turn system checkpoint
off. This is a ROYAL NUISANCE!!!
 
Why are you asking here rather than asking the folks that made the scanner?
