System Reboots On Clicking Speech in Control Panel

Guest

My system reboots whenever I click speech option in control panel. I've
performed disk check, virus check (using an updated anti virus), system
restore, but the problem persists. I have also upgraded RealtekHD.sys driver.
System also reboots when I click voice command in microphone of Languaga Bar.
After reboot, a send error report dialog box popped, I sent it and got the
following message from Microsoft Online Crash Analysis :
Stop error caused by a device driver

Symptoms

You are receiving this message because a device driver installed on your
computer caused a stop error message. This error message required a restart
of your computer. After the restart your computer should continue to operate
normally, however the error may re-occur until the problem is corrected.

Cause

A stop error occurs when your computer encounters an error from which it
cannot recover. This is usually caused by a device driver which encounters an
unhandled exception or performs an illegal operation. When the operating
system detects this situation it is stopped to prevent further problems, such
as data loss or further system instability.

Resolution

Your error report has been computer analyzed and is unable to determine the
exact cause of the error at this time. Since a cause and resolution has not
been found your error report will be analyzed by Microsoft and any associated
vendors to determine the cause of the error. After a cause has been found and
corrected you will receive an updated message the next time you receive this
same error with instructions on resolving the problem. We apologize for any
inconvenience this error has caused and are working to resolve it as quickly
as possible.

Please note it is important you continue to report errors so analysts will
have data to analyze and correct the problem as quickly as possible. We
appreciate your patience and assistance while we work to resolve your error.

Go to "control panel/system/advanced/start and recovery" and uncheck
"automatically reboot",this will cause the stop error message screen to
appear (Blue Screen Of Death),write down the exact error message.
You may have a corrupted sound driver.Have you updated your sound
drivers recently using windows update?

As you said, firstly, I uninstalled my audio driver, restarted Windows, my
speakers stopped working. Then I installed latest version of Realtek High
Definition Audio Driver, again restarted windows, now speakers worked, but on
clicking speech in control panel, system restarted, or you can say the
problem persists.
Please suggest what to do next.

Thanks for your support

On clicking speech, I got following blue screen error:

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage
to your computer.

An attempt was made to execute non executable memory. If this is the first
time you have seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this
screen appears again follow these steps

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If
this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for
any windows updates you might need.

If problems continue disable or remove any newly installed hardware or
software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you
need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer,
press F8 to select advanced startup options and then select safe mode.

Physical memory dump complete
Contact your system administrator or technical support for further assistance.

Also, this time on sending the error report, I got following response from
Microsoft Online Crash Analysis:

Problem description

A device driver installed on your computer caused the problem; however, we
cannot determine the precise cause. To troubleshoot the problem, please see
Getting help.

Getting help

Depending on which situation is applicable to you, please do one of the
following:

If you are running Windows Server 2003 you may experience crashes if you
have adjusted the Hardware Acceleration setting. Microsoft recommends that
you set the Hardware Acceleration setting to None for server systems. To
check your Hardware Acceleration setting, go to the Advanced section of the
display properties dialog box.
If you know the manufacturer of the device, contact the manufacturer's
product support service for assistance.
If you don't know the driver's manufacturer and need help diagnosing and
resolving this problem, contact your computer manufacturer's product support
service.
Updated drivers might be available on the Microsoft Windows Update website.
At Windows Update, you can have your computer scanned and, if there are
updated drivers available, Windows Update will offer a selection of drivers
that you might be able to use. To learn more about updated drivers that might
be available, visit Microsoft Windows Update.

If this article does not resolve your problem then it is some other
device driver that is causing a DEP (Data Execution Prevention) issue
and you will need to identify which device driver is causing the
problem. The parameter values following the STOP code should identify
the memory addresses involved and at least in theory you should be
able to track down the specific device driver from this information.
However I cannot find a definition which identifies just which of the
four parameters relates to which specific address.

Good luck

Do you have the original working drivers that came with your sound
card? Not drivers from Microsoft or the most recent factory updated. I
had the same problem-when I updated my driver I got a BSOD-I had to
remove and reinstall using the older drivers that came with my card.
