Speech Icon on control panel

[Speechless]

I am running Windows XP with sp 2 and everytime I click the speech icon on
the control panel it sends my os into a blue screen with some HEX errors
messages and restarts. The error message appears for a short time. Can you
please advise what speech drivers I should be running. I would like to use
gmail chat or skype and AM unable to do this as the speech functioN KILLS
the machine. Ta
