SYSTEM pr4ocess 100% cpu usage

Hello,
I have a Windows XP Pro laptop and the system [process is
taking up 100% cpu, other programs can load but only very
slowly. The machine has become nearly un-usable. Does
anyone have any suggestions as to why this is happening.
Safe mode seems to be ok, and I have disabled everything
unneccessary in startup.

I now have a 100% problem. I used to have another one
once and I fixed it by removing the the Original
811493 Update. That seemed to fix things for me for a
while.
