Hello group,
My pc does something that drives me nuts every time I shut it down: I
get the Win XP "ping" when it shuts off. I'm wondering what would cause
that alert to sound when I turn my computer off. What can I check to see
what's going on? Could it be some sort of conflict?

I'm running WinXP Pro, with Norton Systemworks 2005, Spy Sweeper, and
Zone Alarm Pro.

Thanks in advance for your help,
Jeff

1. To open Sounds and Audio Devices, click Start, point to Settings, click
Control Panel, and then double-click Sounds and Audio Devices.

2. Click the Sounds tab.

3. Under Program events, scroll down to and highlight Exit Windows.

4. If an item is listed under Sounds, click the [>] to play the selected
sound.

Is that the sound???

5. Under Program events, scroll down to and highlight Windows logoff.

6. If an item is listed under Sounds, click the [>] to play the selected
sound.

Is that the sound???
