"System" memory usage at 62,000K, is that right??

I've noticed that in my Task Manager... my SYSTEM processes is using 62,000Kb
of memories.... I checked on other computers and its usually around 200Kb
only... whats the meaning of this and is there a way I can fix it??

I do not think my system is anything other than typical.

62,000 and 62,000KB are two different things. 62,000 isn't all that much.

On my system, SYSTEM processes total about 65,000K (65MB).
The single process named System is 256K.

Are you running AVG Free antivirus?

I'm running AVG (Free) and I just noticed last week that it updated from
v8.0.1.76 to v8.0.233 - and that's right about the time the high System
Process usage began.
Sure enough, I uninstalled it, and it went away.
