As a twist (but likely related) to some other SM7 complaints I've
seen, I downloaded the upgrade and had problems in that the received
registration code wouldn't "stick" when input, so that each restart of
the program requested another input. After whatever number Iolo
regards as too many (5 or 6, I think), it disabled things and advised
that I was using an illegal registration number, or words to that
effect.
Several hours of phone attempts to Iolo and a number of emails got a
couple of humans to represent that they had "reset" things so that the
number would be accepted and "stick", but it either wouldn't stick, or
(eventually) became "illegal" again. Since then, no responses to
emails, no phone connections (I give up at 20 - 30 minutes for one
reason or another).
The 2 or 3 times I got the program actually running (before the
restistration became "unstuck") it seemed to be a far kludgier
interface than 6, without many new functions, so maybe I'm better off
staying where I am. There's the matter of cost, though, and the
tantalizing prospect of organizing some sort of class action noise in
order to get the magic phone call or email with the equally magical
new number.
Dream on. Looks like it's back to System Suite ...
