system idle process

My computer slows down whenever I play this game.I
noticed in the task manager that something called "system
idle process" shows 99 in the cpu column after playing
this game for around 10 minutes, and stays at 99 even if
I exit the game. This process takes only 20k memory
though as task manager showed. Is this process the reason
why my computer becomes so slow? I cannot end the process
as windows won't allow me. I was wondering if there's
anyway to reconfigure it. Thanks.

System Idle Process is exactly what it sounds like.
It is the % of processing power you have waiting for something to do,
doing nothing.

If you are having problems, this is not the cause.

Idle means the same hear as it does in the dictionary definition of the
word. 99% idle = 1% busy. Your slowdown problem lies elsewhere.

I av asimilar problem with the Explorer.exe
it usually take 20-30MB and 0% of the CPU
but
when I go to my directories with movies it goes crazy 99%
the system is very very slow
so what I do is I clike like cazy - oppening several folders
and closing them
after 10-20sec the system has a crash and all the folders close
the EXPLORER>EXE is then back to normal 0%
???????????????????????????????????????


it totally tickes me off

if anyone knows why and how to fix it please help

I have the latest viruse update - and I know I have no virus
