System freezes while printer is printing

While my printer is printing my system doesn't operate as it used to operate
ie it freezes and won't execute any functions for a while. This didn't start
occuring until after I added 1gig of memory.
 
Reinstall/update the driver.Get the latest from the manufacturer's website.
