system fonts set to wingding?

I installed a microsoft update...don't know witch one...
windows XP Home Edition is now displaying all words in a
wingding style font...thus, can't read anything...
Tried to change themes....I think.....no good..

Any Ideas?

This sometimes happens. It doesn't have anything to do with applying an
update. The easiest fix is to go into System Restore and go back to a
prior Restore Point. If you can't figure out how to do this because of
the fonts being unreadable, reboot the computer and go into Safe Mode
Command Prompt. From the prompt,

c:\Windows\System32\restore\rstrui.exe and then Enter.
