On re-boot default fonts changed to WINGDINGS.

I used Smart Uninstaller to de-install a piece of S/W.

Following that I started to undertake a de-frag on the C drive, which I
stopped.

I then re-booted the PC, and when I logged in again, I noticed that all the
names on the desktop icon have changed to and are being displayed in
WINGDINGS font.

Went into WORD, and fonts are WINGDINGS.

Any ideas how I can sort this out? Operating system being used it XP Pro.

Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have a system restore point from before you used the uninstall
software.

Check for viruses also.

Ms, Carey,

Thanks for the quick response.

I took a System Restore point on Friday, and yes I have a restore point to
go back to.

I am assuming that I go to Programs, Accessories, Systems Tools and Restore?

I is going to be interesting as all the text is showing as WINGDINGS.

I don't think it is a virus as I generally keep up to date with definations
and also undertake regular scans once the updates have been received.

Regards

If that happens you may have better luck booting into Safe Mode and
running System Restore from there.

Got it back from the last restore point that I had.

However, as all the fonts were in WINGDINGS, it took a bit of sort out as to
which menu and sub menu and option to choose.

Thanks to all for their help.
